Mail and Package Delivery
- The Mail Center receives and sends UPS and USPS mail and packages for both U.S. and International delivery (ground and express options).
- Inter-campus mail is distributed throughout the day.
- The United States Postal Service delivers mail to the office by approximately 12:00 pm. The mail is sorted and delivered to the staff and faculty mailboxes by approximately 1:00 pm and delivered to the student mailboxes by the time our office closes for the day.
- Students are notified of packages via a white “Package Slip” placed in their mailbox. Faculty and staff get a pink slip in their mailbox when an oversized package has been delivered. Should you receive a perishable item (i.e: flowers, food, refrigerated item, etc.) we will also notify you via e-mail. (Please note: No refrigerated storage is available.)
- Students need to have their Student ID and Package Slip with them in order to pick up a package.
- UPS, FedEx, Amazon and other carrier packages will all be delivered to the Mail Center throughout the day; we do not have a set schedule for these deliveries. Please understand that while you may receive an instant e-mail notice from the shipper that your package has been delivered, it does take time to process the packages.
- Stamps, postage to be paid, bubble mailers, and envelopes are available to purchase.
- Returning an item: The Mail and Copy Center is able to package your item(s) for return, and calculate postage. If you already have a return label, the Mail and Copy Center can adhere it for you and ship with appropriate carrier. (See note below regarding outgoing FedEx packages.)
Additional Information:
In an effort to ensure quality mail service, please note of the following information:
- Never send cash or coins in the mail. Use checks or money orders.
- Use special services when sending something of value. Options include certified mail, insured mail or shipping methods with tracking ability such as UPS, USPS, or FedEx.
- Use proper, secure packaging, don’t advertise what is inside.
- Use proper addressing. If you need help, please see an associate.
- When ordering through Amazon and other 3rd party delivery services, try to make sure your order is not being delivered on a Saturday or Sunday. You can also include “please deliver Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm” in the special delivery instructions box. This will help to make sure your item is not mis-delivered or lost or stolen if left outside of the building.
- Take advantage of using the Amazon Lockers, located in the Hicks Student Center by the Computer Lab. Once the package(s) have been delivered, an email will be sent with the pick up code. Simply enter or scan the code at the Amazon Locker and the proper locker door will open. Additionally, an email will be sent stating the package has been picked up.
- In the event that a package may be missing, please email the Mail and Copy Center with the following information:
- Date of Delivery
- Tracking Number (not order number)
- Recipient Name
- Carrier (UPS, Amazon, FedEx, USPS, etc.)
- Image of delivery location/signature of recipient
- Packages not claimed in Mail Center after 2 months will be returned to sender. disposed, or donated.
